Set Up SmoothDeploy

SmoothDeploy runs in your browser at app.smoothdeploy.com. There is nothing to install to create tests and run them in the cloud. To record tests or run them on your own machine, you also need the desktop app.

Create an Account

1. Go to app.smoothdeploy.com and click Start free trial.
2. Enter your email address and click Start free trial.
3. Complete the checkout.

When checkout completes, SmoothDeploy creates your account and an organization, and makes you its owner. The organization is named after your email domain, or My Organization if you sign up with a free email provider such as Gmail. You can rename it later in Organization Profile.

The trial lasts 14 days. See Billing for plans.

If a teammate already uses SmoothDeploy, ask an admin to invite you instead. Open the link in the invitation email and click Accept invitation.

If you are signed in but do not belong to an organization, click Create Organization at the top of the sidebar.

Sign In

1. Go to app.smoothdeploy.com.
2. Enter your email address and click Send OTP.
3. Enter the six-digit code from the email and click Continue.

If the code does not arrive, click Didn't receive the code? Resend.

The first time you sign in, enter your First Name and Last Name and click Complete Profile. The rest of the app, including the Downloads page, opens after you complete your profile.

Install the Desktop App

The desktop app is the same console, plus a browser on your machine that you can record and run tests in. Install it if you want to record tests or run tests locally.

1. Install Node.js 22 or later. The desktop app needs it to run Playwright.
2. In the web app, click Downloads at the bottom of the sidebar.
3. Under Native Desktop App, click the download button. The page picks the build for your operating system. Builds for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows, and Linux are listed under All Download Options.
4. Install the app and sign in with the same email address.
