Local Results

The Local Results page shows live progress and the final outcome of a test run executed on your local machine. It is available in the desktop app only. The page opens automatically when you start a local run from the test editor.

Before Execution Starts

When the page opens but the test environment is not ready yet, a Preparing Test… state appears with a spinner and a Cancel button. Click Cancel to abort before the test begins.

During Execution

While the test is running, the page shows:

• A spinner and Running Test... heading in the step list.
• An elapsed timer.
• A live log feed showing Playwright output lines.
• A Stop Test button. Clicking it sends a stop signal to the local runner and changes the heading to Test Stopped.

The step list updates as each step completes, showing pass or fail status per step.

After Execution

Summary

A Test Passed or Test Failed heading appears above the summary.

Test Failed to Run

If the test could not be executed due to a script-level error (for example, a syntax error or no tests found), a Test Failed to Run block appears above the step list with the error message from Playwright.

Step Results

Each step shows its pass or fail status. Clicking a group step drills into its child steps. A back arrow at the top left of the step list returns to the parent level.

Step Errors

If any steps failed, a Step Errors section lists each failure with the step number, step title, and the error message from Playwright.

Reports

Two buttons appear after the run:

• Open Test Report — opens the Playwright HTML report for this run in your default browser.
• Open Trace Viewer — opens the Playwright trace viewer. Only shown when a trace file was collected.

Parameterized Tests

If the test has multiple parameter sets, a navigation control at the top right of the step list lets you switch between each run's results.
